Subcontractor to Education Development Center, Inc.
School-aged children enrolled in before- and afterschool and summer enrichment programs make up a large percentage of children receiving Child Care and Development Block Grant (CCDBG) funds.
OCC contracted with the Education Development Center, Inc. to establish the National Center on Afterschool and Summer Enrichment (NCASE). NCASE ensures that school-age children in working families of low income have increased access to high-quality afterschool and summer learning experiences that contribute to their overall development and academic achievement.
As a subcontractor to the Education Development Center, WRMA works directly with NCASE to provide training and technical assistance to the state, territory, and tribal CCDF lead agencies and their designated networks. Included are statewide afterschool networks, state education agencies, provider associations, and child care resource and referral agencies.
WRMA supports NCASE’s goal of ensuring equal access and quality school-aged care experiences. We provide expertise on funding, workforce stability, diversity, and equity in school-aged programs by:
Acknowledging NCASE’s high performance, OCC extended the contract with the Education Development Center in 2021 and WRMA remains a proud subcontractor in the work.
